Divorce worries can interfere with work
The stress and worry of going through a divorce in California can make a working career much more difficult. If not handled properly, the complications and challenges of a divorce can lead to distraction, making more mistakes at work, reduced productivity and even more tardiness and absences.
One example of what the divorce process can do to the work and career of even a famous and rich celebrity is the story of Pablo Sandoval of The San Francisco Giants. During the recent World Series, he thrilled fans by knocking out three home runs during the first game of the series. Many fans commented on the difference between his stellar performance then, and his miserable performance during the World Series two years earlier in 2010, when he was rarely even put on the field or at bat because of his slump.
The sole difference was that in 2010, he was going through an extremely complicated divorce, involving both financial issues and the care and custody of the young child that he and his estranged wife share.
In the divorce process, there are legal complexities and paperwork that need to be managed and addressed to make sure everything stays on track, and that the legal, financial, and tax consequences of the marriage breakup can get sorted out in the most advantageous way.
When there are children in the marriage, there are also often complicated issues surrounding child custody, child support, and visitation. These often include the question of where the children will live, and with whom, and what is to become of a family home in the context of a property settlement agreement. The advice and guidance of an experienced and skilled attorney can be essential to surviving this process. Being relieved of much of the worry is important so that work and other aspects of life do not suffer.
