Domestic violence leads to divorce after 41 days for reality star
Many times couples that are having marital difficulties, including accusations of domestic violence, will consider divorce as an option to move on from their problems and start over.
Whether a couple has been married for many years, or even a few weeks, domestic violence is never something that should be tolerated in a marriage, and divorce can help.
Thankfully this is what Evelyn Lozada, the VH1 reality star, decided to do even though she was only married for 41 days. She was only recently married on July 4th of this year to her husband Chad Johnson. Johnson is a professional football player, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco.
The couple met while Lozada was starring on VH1’s basketball wives, during which Johnson publicly courted Lozada. The couple was to have their own TV reality show debuting in September about their married life. The show was entitled “Ev & Ocho.”
However, things went sour recently when Lozada found a receipt for condoms and then questioned her new husband about them. The discussion turned in a physical fight during which Johnson allegedly head-butted Lozada. She was taken to the hospital with cuts on her head that may have needed stitching. Police were called and Johnson was arrested.
Since his arrest, Lozada has filed for divorce from Johnson. Johnson was also cut from his current football team the Miami Dolphins the day after the arrest, and obviously their reality TV show has been shelved.
This story is a good reminder to all victims of domestic violence in California that divorce is another option to staying married.
