People divorce for many reasons. Although the reasons for the divorce may not always be ones that both spouses agree on, they may both find that divorce is the best option for them. Whether they are filing a no-fault divorce or if both are choosing to contest the divorce, both have agreed to end the marriage and move on with their lives.
Recently, it has been pointed out that more and more couples who are part of the baby boomer generation have been divorcing in high numbers. Apparently, these married couples have been living together for years and have raised children together, but have now decided that divorce would be a good option because each can support themselves financially.
A question was raised that if they can afford to live alone, why would they live with someone else? When looking at it that way, people may find that it makes sense for them to live alone and only have to care for themselves, especially after they have raised one or more children for a good majority of their life.
Divorcing due to becoming financially independent is an interesting reason to end a marriage. Most of the time when people choose to end their marriage, it is due to irreconcilable differences, infidelity or some other reason where one, both or neither spouse may be at fault. It is not every day that someone chooses to end a marriage because they have gained financial independence.
When a couple is discussing divorce, they may want to seek the assistance of an attorney. Divorce is not always an easy process, but with the help of an attorney, things may go a bit smoother. These people are knowledgeable and may be familiar with divorce cases, so contacting one may clear up any confusion or help solve any disputes you and your spouse are having.
